Sustainable Development
Sustainable development is defined as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Up to 2003, the US BCSD operated as the Business Council for Sustainable Development - Gulf of Mexico, which was established in 1993. The US BCSD believes that business success will be measured by its contribution to economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
